Position: Temporary Document Controller (Pharmaceutical Project)
Location: Cramlington, Northumberland
Duration: 12+ Month Contract
Start Date: ASAP (Immediate Start Preferred)
Salary/Rate: Hourly rate: negotiable
The Role
As the Document Controller, you will be crucial in ensuring the integrity, traceability, and compliance of all project documentation, which is paramount in the highly regulated pharmaceutical environment (cGMP).
Key Responsibilities will include:
- Document Management: Manage the full lifecycle of project and quality documents, including engineering drawings, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), batch records, validation protocols, and technical specifications.
- Compliance: Ensure all documentation adheres to strict industry standards, regulatory requirements (e.g., cGMP), and internal quality procedures.
- Systems & Control: Implement, maintain, and manage the Electronic Document Management System (EDMS) for efficient storage, indexing, and retrieval.
- Issuance & Tracking: Control the issuance and distribution of controlled documents, maintaining an accurate and up-to-date document register and version control.
- Review & Approval: Coordinate the document review and approval workflows with internal teams (Engineering, Quality Assurance, Project Management) and external vendors/contractors.
- Archiving: Manage the secure archiving and retrieval of final records and obsolete documents.
- Support: Assist during internal and external audits by quickly retrieving and presenting required documentation.
What We're Looking For (Essential)
- Proven experience as a Document Controller or in a similar documentation management role.
- Experience working in a regulated industry (Pharmaceutical, Oil & Gas, Nuclear, or Construction/Engineering on high-compliance projects).
- Exceptional organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS) such as Aconex, MasterControl, SharePoint, or similar.
- Strong competency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent communication skills for liaising with multi-disciplinary project teams and stakeholders.
- A proactive attitude and the ability to hit the ground running for an ASAP start.
