Temporary Document Controller
Location: South Shields

Duration: 4 weeks minimum
Salary/Rate: negotiable (per hour)
We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Temporary Document Controller to join our dynamic team for a prestigious new build college project. Commercial build project experience desirable.
The Role:
You will be responsible for the management, distribution, and control of all project-related documentation, ensuring that information is accurate, up-to-date, and accessible to all relevant stakeholders. This is a fast-paced role that requires excellent attention to detail and strong communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Document Management: Control the flow of all project documentation, including drawings, specifications, reports, and correspondence, using a document control system (e.g., Aconex, Asite, Viewpoint).
- Registration & Distribution: Register, log, and distribute all incoming and outgoing documents in a timely manner.
- Drawing Management: Manage the revision and issue of drawings, ensuring the latest versions are used and older versions are archived correctly.
- Quality Control: Conduct quality checks on all documents to ensure they meet project standards and are correctly formatted.
- Collaboration: Liaise with site teams, project managers, contractors, and consultants to ensure all document control procedures are followed.
- Reporting: Generate reports on document status and progress as required.
- Support: Provide administrative support to the project team as needed.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Document Controller, preferably within a construction or engineering environment.
- Familiarity with electronic document management systems (EDMS) is essential.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a range of professionals.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A proactive and adaptable approach to work.
