An exciting long-term opportunity has arisen for a Qualified English Teacher to join a lovely and welcoming team in Great Yarmouth. This role has been created to cover an ongoing long-term absence, and the school is specifically looking for a specialist who can provide stability for their students. This is a full-classroom role that requires a teacher with a passion for the subject and the technical skills to navigate modern educational tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Specialist Instruction: Deliver high-quality English lessons as a subject expert, moving beyond general cover to provide deep academic insight.
- Full Planning & Prep: Take full responsibility for the planning and preparation of all lessons, ensuring they meet the specific needs of the curriculum and your learners.
- Consistent Delivery: Provide a reliable and consistent presence for the department, helping to maintain standards during a colleague's long-term absence.
- Digital Integration: Utilise your computer literacy to enhance learning and manage classroom resources effectively.
- Continuous Development: Engage in additional CPD provided every Monday to stay at the forefront of teaching practices.
- Departmental Collaboration: Work closely with a "lovely" and highly-regarded English team to maintain a positive and productive learning environment.
Working Hours
- Monday - Thursday: 08:00 - 16:00
- Friday: 08:00 - 15:00
- Note: Additional CPD sessions are provided on Mondays.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS is essential.
- Subject Expertise: You must be an English Specialist; this role is not suitable for non-specialists or general cover staff.
- IT Skills: Ideally computer literate and comfortable using technology within the classroom.
- Commitment: Looking for one consistent individual who can commit to an ongoing long-term absence.
- Compliance: An enhanced Child DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
