The Role: Teacher of English
This is a dynamic role teaching English Language and Literature across Key Stage 3 (KS3), Key Stage 4 (GCSE), and potentially Key Stage 5 (A-Level). You will be responsible for delivering a stimulating curriculum that develops students' reading comprehension, analytical skills, creative writing, and confident communication.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging, differentiated, and academically challenging English lessons across all assigned key stages and ability groups.
- Mark and assess student work rigorously and consistently, providing high-quality feedback that drives progress and attainment.
- Monitor, track, and report on the progress of all students, implementing effective interventions where necessary to close attainment gaps.
- Contribute actively to the development and enhancement of the English curriculum, including resource creation and scheme of work reviews.
- Maintain a well-managed and positive learning environment that fosters respect, high expectations, and intellectual risk-taking.
- Collaborate closely with departmental colleagues to share best practice, moderate assessment, and contribute to faculty improvement plans.
- Support students in preparation for all key examination periods (GCSE, A-Level) through targeted revision and study skills support.
What We're Looking For
We are seeking a passionate and effective educator to strengthen our team.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree specialization in English Literature, English Language, or a related field are essential.
- Proven experience teaching both English Language and English Literature effectively at GCSE level is required.
- The ability to teach to A-Level standard is highly desirable and may be included in the timetable.
- Excellent subject knowledge, demonstrating a broad and current understanding of the curriculum texts and literary theory.
- A strong track record of achieving excellent student outcomes and contributing to rising attainment in English.
- A highly effective communicator who builds rapport easily with students, colleagues, and parents.
- Committed to continuous professional development (CPD) and reflective practice in the pursuit of teaching excellence.
