The Role: English Teacher
We seek a creative teacher who can bring both classic and contemporary literature to life, developing students' analytical writing and communication skills from the junior levels through to advanced final year courses.

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and stimulating English Language and Literature lessons across all key stages, including advanced courses (e.g., A-Level, IB, or equivalent).
- Develop students' critical thinking, analytical writing, and effective oral communication skills.
- Select and teach a diverse range of texts to broaden students' perspectives and cultural understanding.
- Assess student work accurately and provide timely, constructive feedback to facilitate continuous improvement.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of the English curriculum, departmental resources, and innovative teaching methodologies.
- Offer academic support and guidance to students, including mentorship for examination preparation and coursework.
- Participate actively in departmental meetings and contribute to the broader life of the school, such as leading a book club or debate team.
What We're Looking For
We are seeking a teacher who is not only an expert in their subject but also a dedicated mentor committed to nurturing the academic and personal growth of our students.
- A degree in English Literature, Language, Linguistics, or a closely related discipline.
- A recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).
- Proven experience teaching English to a high level, ideally up to A-Level or IB.
- Excellent subject knowledge with an enthusiasm for both literary analysis and pedagogical practice.
- The ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities and backgrounds.
- A strong commitment to promoting high standards of literacy and critical thinking across the curriculum.
- Flexibility, a strong work ethic, and a desire to be part of a collaborative and innovative team.
