Job Advert: Finishing Foreman/foreperson - New Build Housing
Location: Bedlington
Salary: £24 per hour CIS
Contract Type: Temp, ASAP start & 2 weeks cover
We're looking for an experienced Finishing Foreman/Foreperson to join our team on an exciting new build housing development in Bedlington. You'll be responsible for overseeing the final stages of construction, ensuring all homes are completed to the highest standards, ready for customer handover.
You'll play a crucial role in managing sub-contractors and tradespeople, ensuring all work is completed on time and to the correct specifications. The successful candidate will be a key player in achieving a defect-free finish and a smooth customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage finishing trades and sub-contractors, including joiners, painters, plumbers, and electricians.
- Working to a snagging list
- Hands on, working on painting, patching, caulking.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure all work meets quality standards and CMLs (Certificates of Mortgage Lending) requirements.
- Identify and resolve defects efficiently and effectively.
- Ensure the site is always safe and tidy, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
- Liaise with the Site Manager, Project Manager, and other site personnel.
- Help achieve project deadlines, ensuring homes are ready for final inspection and customer handover.
Skills and Experience
- Proven experience as a Finishing Foreman/Foreperson on new build housing sites.
- Strong knowledge of NHBC standards and CMLs.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and plans.
- Up-to-date knowledge of health and safety legislation.
- A valid CSCS card is essential and SSSTS or SMSTS
