This is a fantastic opening for a proactive QTS French Teacher to join a dedicated MFL (Modern Foreign Languages) department in Preston. You will be responsible for creating an immersive classroom environment where students feel empowered to master a new language and explore the rich traditions of French-speaking countries.
Your Key Responsibilities
Deliver Engaging Lessons: Plan and teach interactive French lessons for KS3 and KS4, focusing on the four key skills: Speaking, Listening, Reading, and Writing.
GCSE Success: Utilize your knowledge of exam board specifications (AQA/Edexcel) to prepare Year 11 students for their final assessments and speaking exams.
Cultural Enrichment: Incorporate cultural authentic materials-such as music, film, and literature-to make language learning relevant and exciting.
Monitor Progress: Provide clear, constructive feedback and use assessments to identify and close learning gaps.
Inclusive Environment: Maintain a positive and well-managed classroom that encourages every student to "have a go" at speaking a new language.
What We Are Looking For
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Essential, along with a degree in French or a related linguistic field.
Fluency: Near-native or high-level fluency in French, with a strong grasp of grammar and phonetics.
Secondary Experience: Proven success teaching French within the UK National Curriculum at KS3 and KS4.
Adaptability: The ability to step into a new department and build immediate rapport with students and staff.
Compliance: A current Enhanced Child DBS on the update service (or a willingness to obtain one).
