The Role: French Teacher
We are seeking an engaging, highly skilled French Teacher to instruct students across a broad range of abilities, from foundational levels to advanced examination preparation (e.g., AP/IB/A-Level). This role is vital in developing students' linguistic competence, cultural awareness, and confidence in speaking French.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver a comprehensive, student-centered French curriculum focused on the four skills: reading, writing, listening, and speaking.
- Teach various levels of French, adapting instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Utilize innovative, communicative methodologies and integrate technology (e.g., language lab software, authentic online media) into daily lessons.
- Evaluate and report on student progress, providing timely and specific feedback to promote linguistic accuracy and fluency.
- Create a vibrant, immersive classroom environment that celebrates French and Francophone cultures.
- Lead or contribute to extracurricular activities, such as a French Club, participation in competitions, or cultural exchange initiatives.
- Collaborate effectively with World Languages colleagues on curriculum mapping, resource development, and pedagogical strategy.
- Communicate proactively with parents regarding student achievement and departmental goals.
- Maintain expertise in current trends and best practices in French language instruction.
What We're Looking For:
We are seeking a dedicated professional with a genuine enthusiasm for the French language and the ability to motivate and inspire teenage learners.
- A degree (or advanced degree) in French, Education, or a closely related field.
- Native or near-native proficiency in French.
- Proven successful experience teaching French at the secondary level, with a track record of preparing students for rigorous external exams (e.g., AP French, IB, or A-Level).
- Excellent knowledge of French and Francophone history, literature, and contemporary culture.
- Expertise in differentiated instruction and the use of technology to enhance language acquisition.
- Superior organizational skills and the ability to manage a positive, engaging classroom.
- A commitment to fostering intercultural understanding and promoting global citizenship.
