The Role: Geography Teacher

We are searching for an educator who can captivate students with both the physical beauty of our planet (geomorphology, climate) and the complexity of human interaction (migration, urbanization, geopolitics), preparing them for advanced studies and critical citizenship.\

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver inspiring Geography lessons to students from Key Stage 3 through to post-16 examination levels (e.g., A-Level, IB, or equivalent).
• Develop students' analytical skills in interpreting data, maps, charts, and geographical information systems (GIS).
• Plan, organize, and execute local and regional fieldwork opportunities to provide vital real-world data collection experience.
• Regularly assess student performance against learning outcomes, providing timely, high-quality feedback to drive improvement.
• Take a leading role in maintaining and developing engaging digital and physical resources for the Geography curriculum.
• Act as a supportive form tutor and contribute to the school's pastoral care system, ensuring student well-being.
• Actively participate in departmental innovation by researching and implementing new pedagogical techniques and technologies.

What We're Looking For

We need a dedicated professional who is an excellent communicator and a proactive team member, with a genuine desire to instill global competence in young people.

• A degree in Geography or a related discipline with significant geographical content (e.g., Environmental Science, Urban Planning).
• A recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).
• Demonstrated success in teaching Geography across various age groups, preferably up to an advanced level.
• A strong, current understanding of modern geographical challenges and how to integrate them into the curriculum.
• Competence in using digital geographical tools and data analysis in the classroom.
• An ability to motivate and manage diverse groups of learners, fostering an inclusive and inquiring atmosphere.
• A strong commitment to professional growth and collaborative curriculum planning.
