We are looking for an individual who can ignite a passion for history in students and make a significant contribution to a high-achieving humanities department. What You'll Be Doing
- Delivering Engaging Lessons: You'll be responsible for planning and teaching high-quality history lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (GCSE), and potentially Key Stage 5 (A-Level), following the UK curriculum.
- Fostering a Love of Learning: Create a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment where students feel confident to explore complex historical events and ideas, fostering their analytical skills and historical knowledge.
- Collaborating with Your Team: Work alongside a supportive and experienced team of humanities professionals, sharing best practices and contributing to the overall success of the department and school.
- Full Teaching Responsibilities: This role involves all aspects of a permanent teaching position, including lesson planning, marking, assessments, and pastoral duties.
- Upholding School Standards: Adhere to all school policies and procedures, including those related to safeguarding and student welfare.
What We're Looking For
- A passionate and knowledgeable History Teacher with the ability to inspire and engage students of all abilities.
- You must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), with a degree in History or a related field.
- Child DBS on the update service
- Experience teaching the UK curriculum within a secondary school is essential.
- Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive learning atmosphere.
- A collaborative spirit and strong communication skills.
- A commitment to helping every student reach their full potential.
