What We're Looking For:
HLTA Status: You must hold a recognised Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) qualification.
Experience: Proven, substantial experience working as a Teaching Assistant or HLTA in UK primary school settings.
Curriculum Knowledge: A strong understanding of the primary National Curriculum and effective pedagogical practices across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
Classroom Management: Excellent classroom management skills with the ability to lead groups and whole classes effectively.
SEND Understanding: Experience and confidence in supporting children with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
Commitment: A dedicated and reliable individual looking for full-time, long-term work. While initial placements may be day-to-day for supply needs, our aim is to secure you consistent, long-term positions.
Working Hours: Ability to commit to full-time hours, typically 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday, during term time.
Key Qualities: Proactive, adaptable, resilient, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, and a genuine passion for primary education.
Your Role Will Involve:
Covering Classes: Delivering pre-planned lessons to whole classes during short-term teacher absences.
Leading Interventions: Planning and leading small group interventions across various subjects (e.g., phonics, literacy, numeracy) to support pupil progress.
Supporting Teachers: Assisting the class teacher with lesson preparation, resource creation, and classroom management.
SEND Support: Providing targeted support to pupils with SEND, adapting resources and activities to meet individual needs, and contributing to EHCP/IEP reviews.
Assessment: Supporting pupil assessment, recording progress, and providing feedback to the class teacher.
Positive Learning Environment: Helping to create and maintain a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment for all children.
Team Collaboration: Working effectively with teachers, other teaching assistants, parents, and the SENCO.
