About the Opportunity
We are seeking a highly motivated and creative Key Stage 1 Teacher (Years 1 and 2) to join an established team. This pivotal role involves transitioning pupils from the play-based learning of the EYFS to the rigour of the National Curriculum. The successful candidate will be instrumental in developing confident readers, writers, and mathematicians, ensuring a smooth and joyful continuation of their primary education.

What We're Looking For

- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is mandatory.
- Significant experience teaching within Key Stage 1 and a deep understanding of its pedagogical demands.
- Proven ability to deliver outstanding, differentiated lessons across all core and foundation subjects.
- Expertise in teaching early Phonics (e.g., synthetic phonics schemes) and fostering early reading comprehension.
- Strong skills in assessment for learning (AfL) and using data effectively to drive pupil progress.
- Excellent organisational skills, a proactive work ethic, and a calm, resilient demeanour.
- A commitment to fostering positive behaviour and strong pupil well-being.
- The ability to form professional, trusting relationships with parents and colleagues.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Taking full responsibility for a KS1 class, including the planning, preparation, and delivery of a creative and cohesive curriculum.
- Systematically tracking and analysing pupil attainment and progress across the curriculum, reporting to the Senior Leadership Team.
- Implementing and adapting specialist interventions (e.g., reading recovery) where necessary to support individuals or small groups.
- Directing and effectively utilising the time of the assigned Teaching Assistant to maximise learning opportunities.
- Maintaining accurate, statutory records (e.g., Phonics Screening Check data) and contributing to pupil profiles.
- Creating an engaging, tidy, and resource-rich classroom that reflects the learning taking place.
- Participating enthusiastically in school events, training, and the wider school community.
- Championing the school's safeguarding procedures and codes of conduct at all times.
