Roles & Responsibilities
The Class Teacher will be entrusted with strategic and educational leadership duties:
IT Integration: Pioneer the effective integration of relevant educational technology (EdTech) into daily lesson delivery to enhance pupil outcomes and digital literacy.
Phase Collaboration: Work proactively with other Key Stage teachers to collaboratively plan medium-term schemes of work and ensure consistent progression and challenge.
Parental Workshops: Organise and deliver occasional evening workshops or information sessions for parents, focusing on supporting specific curriculum areas (e.g., SATs preparation, online safety).
Assessment for Learning: Implement rigorous assessment for learning (AfL) strategies, consistently providing detailed verbal and written feedback that secures immediate pupil improvement.
Subject Leadership: Take on leadership responsibility for a non-core subject (dependent on experience), including resource management and monitoring impact across the school.
Staff Mentoring: Provide informal mentoring and guidance to Teaching Assistants within the classroom, ensuring effective deployment and role clarity.
Requirements
The ideal candidate for this influential role will possess:
Certification: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is mandatory.
Experience: Proven, successful experience teaching a class within Key Stage 2 in the UK.
Behaviour Management: Exemplary and consistent behaviour management skills, fostering a calm, focused learning environment.
IT Proficiency: High proficiency in using EdTech and interactive whiteboards to drive innovation in lessons.
