We are seeking dedicated and engaging Key Stage 2 (KS2) Teaching Assistants to join our vibrant primary school communities across the North Manchester area. This is a fantastic opportunity to support older primary pupils as they develop academically and socially, making a real impact on their journey through school.
What We're Looking For:
Experience: A minimum of 3-6 months of experience working as a Teaching Assistant in UK primary school settings, specifically with a strong focus on Key Stage 2 (Years 3-6) being highly advantageous.
Willingness to Train: A willingness to attend and complete Team Teach training (provided as part of your induction, if not already held). This is important for supporting children safely and effectively, particularly for behavioural needs.
Commitment: A dedicated and reliable individual looking for full-time, long-term work. While initial placements may be day-to-day, our aim is to secure you consistent, long-term positions within our partner schools.
Working Hours: Ability to commit to full-time hours, typically 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday, during term time.
Passion for KS2: A genuine desire to support children aged 7-11, assisting with core subjects like Maths, English, and Science, and fostering independence.
Key Qualities: Patience, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, adaptability, a proactive approach, and a positive attitude.
Your Role Will Involve:
Providing in-class support to pupils in Key Stage 2, individually or in small groups, under the direction of the class teacher.
Assisting with the implementation of lesson plans across the KS2 curriculum, including literacy, numeracy, and topic work.
Helping to create a positive, engaging, and stimulating learning environment that encourages independence and critical thinking.
Supporting classroom management and promoting positive behaviour and peer relationships among older primary children.
Assisting with the preparation of classroom resources and displays.
Liaising with the class teacher regarding pupil progress, observations, and any areas of concern.
Supporting children during independent work, group activities, and potentially during small intervention sessions.
