About the Role: Learning Support Assistant (LSA)
We are seeking an adaptable and highly motivated Learning Support Assistant to work across Key Stages 3 and 4. This general LSA position involves supporting students who require temporary or ongoing assistance with curriculum access, organization, and confidence building. You will work closely with teachers in subjects spanning Science, Humanities, and the Arts, providing both whole-class and targeted small-group support.

Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate access to the curriculum for students in mainstream classrooms, particularly those who may be withdrawn, lack confidence, or struggle with complex concepts.
- Lead targeted booster sessions for small groups outside of class time, focusing on improving comprehension, study skills, and subject-specific literacy.
- Support the implementation of individualized strategies as advised by teachers to help students stay on task, manage their time, and complete assignments.
- Assist in modifying and preparing differentiated materials and visual aids to enhance understanding across various subjects.
- Maintain accurate records of student engagement, behavior, and progress, providing crucial feedback to the teaching staff and the SENCo.
- Promote a positive self-image and resilience in students, encouraging them to participate actively and develop independence in their learning.
- Supervise students during internal and external school activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
What We're Looking For
We are searching for a dynamic, compassionate individual who is ready to immerse themselves in the full life of the school.
- A minimum of one year's experience working with young people aged 11-16 in an educational or youth setting.
- A proactive, 'can-do' attitude with the ability to quickly establish positive professional relationships with students and staff.
- Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly explain concepts or instructions in an encouraging manner.
- High standards of personal organization and reliability, demonstrating a professional approach to supporting classroom routines.
- The capacity to support learning across diverse subjects, showing enthusiasm for different areas of the curriculum.
- Flexibility to respond effectively to the changing needs of the classroom environment and individual students.
- A relevant Level 2 qualification (e.g., Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools) is advantageous.
