We are actively recruiting for a well-regarded school in Great Dunmow that is expanding its support team for the upcoming academic term. We are looking for empathetic and reliable Learning Support Assistants to join them in January 2026.
This is a perfect opportunity for candidates living in Dunmow, Braintree, or Bishop's Stortford who are looking for a local, stable role with excellent pay rates.
You will be supporting students to overcome barriers to learning, ensuring they feel confident and included in the classroom.
... - Personalised Support: Working 1:1 or with small groups of students who may have SEN (Special Educational Needs) or lower ability levels.
- Curriculum Access: Breaking down lessons into manageable tasks to help students understand the coursework.
- Emotional Support: Acting as a mentor to build the students' self-esteem and social skills.
- Classroom Assistance: helping the teacher with general classroom management and resource preparation.
Who We Are Looking For
To command the top end of our pay bracket (£110/day), we are seeking candidates who can hit the ground running.
- Experience: Previous experience in a school, nursery, or care setting is essential. Experience with SEN (Autism/ADHD) is highly advantageous.
- Adaptability: You must be flexible and able to adjust your support style to suit different students.
- Soft Skills: Patience, a sense of humour, and the ability to remain calm in busy situations.
- Compliance: An active Enhanced DBS on the update service (or the willingness to apply immediately).
