Daily Pay: £13.68 - £14.00 per hour
If you want to be a teacher, you need to know what a real classroom feels like. This job is the best "practice" you can get. Instead of just reading about teaching, you will be doing it every day. You will learn how to talk to students, how to help them learn, and how to manage a class. When you eventually apply for your teacher training, you will have months of experience that other people don't have.
Duties:
- Sitting with students in class to help them get started on their work.
- Helping the teacher hand out worksheets and get the room ready for the lesson.
- Working one-on-one with students who find subjects like English or Maths a bit tricky.
- Keeping students focused on their tasks so they don't get distracted.
- Making sure the classroom stays tidy and all books are put away at the end.
- Working with students in small groups to practice reading or simple tasks.
- Listening to students read and helping them with words they don't know.
- Helping the teacher keep the class calm and well-behaved.
- Walking around the room to see if any student needs a bit of extra help.
Skills & Qualifications:
- A University Degree OR a Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification is highly valued.
- A friendly and patient personality so you can support students who find school hard.
- Clear communication skills so you can talk to teenagers and other staff members easily.
- The ability to stay calm and helpful even when the classroom gets busy.
- A real interest in education and helping young people reach their goals.
