We are looking for TAs who can bring energy, subject knowledge, and a calm, authoritative presence to the classroom.
The Role & Responsibilities
In this position, you will move beyond general classroom assistance to take on more specialised responsibilities:
- Academic Interventions: Leading "catch-up" sessions for GCSE students, particularly in literacy and numeracy.
- Behavioural Support: Implementing school-wide behaviour policies and supporting students who may find the transition to secondary education challenging.
- Specialist Support: Working closely with the SENCO to provide tailored assistance for students with ASD, ADHD, or SEMH needs.
- Resource Development: Preparing learning materials that cater to a wide range of abilities and learning styles.
What You Bring to the Team
- Level 3 Qualification: A CACHE Level 3, NVQ Level 3, or a relevant degree in Education/Childcare.
- Secondary Expertise: An understanding of the Key Stage 3 and 4 curriculum.
- Colchester-Based: Ideally living in or able to commute easily to Colchester and surrounding areas.
- Reliability: A consistent track record of attendance and a professional attitude that meshes with school leadership teams.
