Randstad Education is working with a fantastic and wonderful school in Rainham that is searching for a SEN teaching assistant that enjoys challenges and is willing to support SEN teachers on a regular basis.
The work will be both demanding and rewarding, with the opportunity to make a significant difference in an ever-changing environment. You will be able to display practical, thorough teaching skills and a commitment to go above and beyond for the children you serve.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Clarifying and explaining instructions
- Ensuring the pupil is able to use the equipment and materials provided
- Motivating and motivating the pupil(s) as needed by offering appropriate degrees of personalised attention, reassurance, and assistance with learning activities.
- Assisting in weaker areas, e.g. speech and language, reading, spelling, numeracy, handwriting/presentation etc
- Using praise, commentary, and support to motivate students to concentrate and stay on task
- Liaising with class teacher, Inclusion Manager and other professionals about Education and Health Care Plans (EHCP), contributing to the planning and delivery as appropriate
- When the class teacher or Inclusion Manager requests it, provide extra nurturing to people.
- Implementing agreed-upon behaviour control measures consistently and effectively
- Helping to make appropriate resources to support the pupil
- Supporting differentiation and feedback to the class teacher
REQUIREMENTS:
- Level 2 or 3 NCFE CACHE - Desirable
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (we can assist with applying for a new DBS if required)
- Eligibility to work in the UK (sponsorship is not available with this role)
- Able to reference your recent work (must be able to provide 2 professional references)
