Newport
Are you ready to prove that Maths is more than just numbers-it's the language of the universe?
We are seeking a dedicated Maths Teacher to join a highly regarded Secondary School serving the Newport and Saffron Walden area. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity for a specialist who can instill confidence in students across Key Stages 3 and 4, with potential for A-Level teaching for the right candidate. Whether you are an ECT or an experienced practitioner, we want a teacher who can make high-level concepts accessible to all.
Key Responsibilities
- Dynamic Curriculum Delivery: Plan and deliver high-quality Maths lessons that challenge and inspire, covering algebra, ratio, geometry, and statistics.
- Exam Mastery: Prepare Year 11 students for their GCSE Higher and Foundation tier exams, utilising data-driven interventions to close attainment gaps.
- Mathematical Fluency: Foster a deep understanding of problem-solving techniques, encouraging students to explain their reasoning rather than just finding the answer.
- Visual Learning: Utilize geometric and algebraic visualisations to help students grasp complex spatial and numerical relationships.
- Inclusive Pedagogy: Adapt your teaching style to support learners of all abilities, from those struggling with basic numeracy to those aiming for Grade 9 perfection.
- Data Representation: Teach students how to interpret and analyse complex data sets, a vital skill for modern digital citizenship.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS is mandatory.
- A relevant degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience teaching the UK Mathematics curriculum at the Secondary level.
- Strong classroom management skills and a passion for high academic standards.
- An enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service (or a willingness to process a new one).
