An outstanding opportunity has arisen for a Qualified Maths Teacher to join a vibrant Secondary School in St Ives. This is a Full-Time long-term contract where you will deliver high-impact lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (with potential for KS5 for candidates with A-Level experience). We are looking for an educator who can balance traditional methods with modern, interactive teaching to ensure students of all abilities can calculate their way to success. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Academic Instruction: Plan and deliver a comprehensive Mathematics curriculum, covering everything from foundational arithmetic to advanced algebra and geometry.
- Exam Excellence: Prepare Year 11 cohorts for their GCSE examinations through targeted revision, mock assessments, and personalised feedback.
- Data-Driven Teaching: Monitor student progress meticulously, using assessment data to identify learning gaps and implement effective interventions.
- Engagement & Curiosity: Create a stimulating classroom environment that encourages mathematical reasoning, critical thinking, and real-world application.
- Collaboration: Work as part of a high-performing Maths faculty to share resources, contribute to schemes of work, and support departmental goals.
- Inclusion: Differentiate lessons to ensure that both lower-ability learners and high-attaining "Gifted and Talented" pupils are sufficiently challenged.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS is mandatory.
- A degree in Mathematics, Statistics, or a closely related STEM subject.
- Proven experience teaching the Maths National Curriculum within a UK Secondary setting.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to foster a focused, respectful learning atmosphere.
- A proactive attitude toward professional development and a commitment to high standards of pedagogy.
- An enhanced Child DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
