Are you a skilled Mechanical Engineer with experience in site management? We are currently seeking a proactive professional to join a wide site team on a significant project in Morpeth. You will play a key role in supervising subcontractors and ensuring high-quality delivery across mechanical and electrical workstreams.
Key Details
- Location: HMP Northumberland, Morpeth.
- Daily Rate: £350.00 - £450.00 (Umbrella PAYE).
- IR35 Status: In Scope.
- Start Date: ASAP, ideally by 20th April.
- Duration: Currently scheduled until 31st December 2026.
- Holiday Entitlement: 34 days.
Your Role and Responsibilities
In this position, you will be responsible for the daily coordination and safety of mechanical site operations. Your core duties will include:
- Subcontractor Management: Supervising both mechanical and electrical subcontractors on-site.
- Safety & Compliance: Leading daily site safety briefings and ensuring full site safety compliance.
- Reporting: Managing daily reporting, record keeping, and providing weekly progress updates.
- Planning: Developing 6-week look-aheads to ensure project milestones are met.
- Quality Assurance: Carrying out essential QA checks throughout the project lifecycle.
- Security Clearance: While initial duties are "outside the wire," you must be prepared to undergo EL1 clearance to move over to the wider site as required.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following criteria:
- Experience: Significant relevant Mechanical Site Management experience.
- CSCS: Valid Black or Gold CSCS card.
- Safety Certification: SMSTS or SSSTS is required.
- Vetting: Ability to pass a Basic DBS and BPSS check.
- Qualifications: Up-to-date relevant mechanical qualifications; First Aid is not required unless you currently hold a valid certificate.
