The Role: Modern Foreign Language Teacher (MFL)
You will be responsible for planning, teaching, and assessing MFL (e.g., French, Spanish, German) across Key Stages 3, 4, and potentially 5. This role demands creativity, subject expertise, and a passion for helping students achieve fluency and a genuine love for other cultures.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons across a range of ages and abilities, inspiring curiosity and enthusiasm for language learning.
- Assess, monitor, and record student progress using both formative and summative methods, providing high-quality feedback to drive improvement.
- Develop and adapt schemes of work and resources that align with national curriculum requirements and exam board specifications (e.g., GCSE and A-Level).
- Maintain high standards of classroom management and behavior, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel confident to participate.
- Contribute to the wider life of the MFL department by participating in extracurricular activities, language trips, and cultural events.
- Communicate effectively with parents/carers regarding student progress, attainment, and well-being.
- Undertake the role of a Form Tutor, supporting the pastoral welfare and academic development of a dedicated group of students.
- Keep up-to-date with new developments in MFL teaching pedagogy and subject knowledge through continuous professional development (CPD).
What We're Looking For
We are searching for a creative, motivated, and highly effective MFL practitioner.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree in a Modern Foreign Language.
- Excellent subject knowledge in at least one, ideally two, foreign languages (e.g., French and/or Spanish).
- Proven track record of successful teaching practice and securing strong student outcomes at secondary level.
- A deep passion for language and culture that translates into inspiring classroom lessons.
- The ability to use technology effectively to enhance language acquisition and cultural understanding.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage time and workload effectively.
- A collaborative approach to working within a high-performing department team.
