About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Multi-Skilled Operative to join our team, working on social housing refurbishment projects across Heaton/Byker You will be a key player in upgrading and maintaining properties, ensuring tenants have safe and comfortable homes. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a variety of tasks within a supportive team environment.
As a Multi-Skilled Operative, you will be responsible for carrying out a range of trade tasks to a high standard. Your day-to-day duties will primarily involve work on void (empty) and tenanted properties, including:
Carpentry: Fitting doors, skirting boards, architraves, kitchen units, and general repairs.
Plumbing: Basic plumbing repairs, such as fixing leaks, changing taps, and fitting sinks or toilets.
Plastering: Patch plastering and making good walls and ceilings.
Tiling: Wall and floor tiling in kitchens and bathrooms.
Painting & Decorating: Preparing surfaces and applying paint to internal areas for a clean, professional finish.
General Repairs: Tackling various ad-hoc maintenance tasks as they arise to ensure properties are in excellent condition.
What You'll Need
To be successful in this role, you should have:
Proven experience in a similar multi-trade or maintenance role, preferably within the social housing sector.
A core trade qualification is preferable (e.g., NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Carpentry or Plumbing) however if you have experience as a handyman similar with Green CSCS we will consider
A valid CSCS Card.
A full, clean UK Driving License.
Your own set of professional tools.
A strong understanding of health and safety regulations.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
Good communication skills for liaising with colleagues and tenants.
