We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Specialist Study Skills Tutor (SPLD) to support students in Belfast to achieve their academic potential.
Job Description
As an SPLD Tutor, you will:
Deliver high-quality, one-to-one academic support for students with Specific Learning Difficulties (SPLD)
Create and implement personalised learning plans tailored to each student's individual needs
Encourage independence by building on strengths and teaching effective study strategies
Support students in developing key academic skills including organisation, time management, and research
Assist in improving reading, writing, and comprehension abilities
Maintain confidentiality and respond to student concerns professionally and promptly
Work collaboratively with Randstad to ensure the highest standard of support
Offer flexible support through both in-person and remote sessions
What We're Looking For
You'll be a great fit if you:
Hold membership with one of the following: BDA, ADSHE, Dyslexia Guild, or PATOSS
Communicate clearly and empathetically with students and staff
Have experience supporting individuals with Specific Learning Difficulties
Are dependable, punctual, and well-organised
Can manage a diverse caseload and adapt support strategies accordingly
Maintain a professional and confidential approach to student support

Qualifications & Experience
Required: Membership with BDA, ADSHE, Dyslexia Guild, or PATOSS
Desirable: Previous experience supporting university students with SPLD (though not essential)
Key Skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to engage and build rapport with students
Up-to-date knowledge of SPLD and the DSA framework
