Key Duties

• Assume full responsibility for the creation and delivery of a differentiated, inspiring PE curriculum tailored for mixed-ability groups at KS3 and KS4 (including specialist courses like GCSE PE/BTEC Sport, where required).
• Conduct robust and ongoing assessment of pupil attainment and progress against departmental benchmarks, using data to inform future planning.
• Maintain an exemplary standard of safety, conduct, and positive motivation within all practical teaching environments.
• Organise, promote, and run compelling extra-curricular sports provision and team practices, demonstrating a commitment to the school's sporting profile.
• Collaborate closely with the Faculty Head and pastoral staff to monitor student well-being and resource deployment effectively.
• Ensure meticulous recording of student performance data, safety reports, and attendance records.
• Build productive relationships with parents and community sporting partners to enhance student opportunities.

Applicant Profile: Essential Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is mandatory, supported by a relevant academic background in PE or Sports Science.
• Demonstrated success in teaching Physical Education at the secondary school level (KS3 & KS4).
• Exceptional expertise and versatility in coaching and teaching a wide spectrum of physical activities.
• A profound belief in inclusive practice, ensuring activities are accessible and motivating for every student, regardless of skill level.
• Possession of high energy, adaptability, excellent organisational skills, and a firm but fair approach to behaviour management.
• Outstanding communication skills necessary for working collaboratively within the department and liaising with parents.
• Must hold a valid Enhanced Child DBS on the update service (or be prepared to process one immediately).
