We are seeking a high-energy, Qualified PE Teacher to join a thriving Secondary School in Soham. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity to join a department that views physical education as a vital pillar of student wellbeing and academic success. You will be responsible for delivering a diverse range of sports and theoretical concepts across Key Stages 3 and 4, fostering a culture of health and active participation.
Your Impact: Responsibilities
- Curriculum Delivery: Plan and teach high-quality practical lessons across a variety of disciplines, including team sports, athletics, gymnastics, and racket sports.
- GCSE & BTEC Specialist: Lead theoretical sessions for KS4 students, covering anatomy, physiology, and socio-cultural influences in sport with clarity and passion.
- Inclusive Coaching: Adapt drills and games to ensure every student-regardless of their starting point-can participate safely and make visible progress.
- Extracurricular Champion: Take an active role in the school's sporting life, coordinating fixtures, coaching school teams, and running lunchtime or after-school clubs.
- Performance Analysis: Use data and observation to track student progress, providing constructive feedback that helps learners refine their techniques.
- Safe Practice: Maintain rigorous health and safety standards across all sporting facilities, ensuring equipment is used correctly and risks are managed.
What You'll Bring to the Team
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): This is mandatory. We welcome applications from both Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced practitioners.
