The Role
This is an exciting, full-time opportunity for a qualified PE Teacher (QTS) to deliver high-impact lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4. You will play a vital role in shaping the physical education journey of students, from developing fundamental movement skills to coaching competitive school squads.

- Driving Engagement: Motivating every student to take part, ensuring lessons are high-energy and accessible to all.
- Creative Teaching: Helping to design and implement a modern, varied PE syllabus that captures student interest.
- Extracurricular Leadership: Managing after-school clubs and leading teams in local and regional fixtures.
- Holistic Health: Using physical activity as a tool to improve both physical health and mental resilience.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute high-quality PE lessons for KS3 and KS4, including theoretical delivery for GCSE or BTEC qualifications where required.
- Monitor and record student development, using data to provide tailored feedback and encourage consistent improvement.
- Maintain a safe, structured, and inspiring learning atmosphere across all indoor and outdoor sports facilities.
- Dedicate time to extracurricular provision, fostering a culture of pride and participation beyond the classroom.
- Work alongside the PE faculty and pastoral staff to support student welfare and share best practices.
- Ensure all departmental resources are managed effectively and safety protocols are strictly followed.
- Build positive relationships with the local Thetford community and sports hubs to provide students with wider pathways.
Candidate Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential, supported by a degree in PE, Sports Science, or a related field.
- Solid experience delivering the PE curriculum within a Secondary School setting (KS3/4).
- A versatile skill set across a variety of disciplines, from traditional team games to individual fitness.
- A passionate advocate for inclusion, with the ability to differentiate tasks for diverse learning needs.
- Resilient, energetic, and professional, with an ability to manage classroom behavior effectively.
- Strong collaborative skills and a proactive approach to departmental growth.
- An Enhanced Child DBS on the update service (or a commitment to apply for one immediately).
