Randstad are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Plant Operator to join our team in Wissington. This role is central to maintaining the reliability, efficiency, and safety of our high-quality production site.

Production, Maintenance, and Safety
Reporting directly to the Facility Manager, you will be responsible for both overseeing plant operations and executing essential mechanical maintenance tasks, ensuring uninterrupted production within all environmental, safety, and cost parameters.
Key Responsibilities
- Plant Operation: Monitor and adjust operating parameters to ensure optimal production rates and efficiency. Safely and efficiently respond to all alarms and process upsets.
- Mechanical Maintenance: Take primary responsibility for routine maintenance and repair of process equipment, including developing and overseeing the mechanical maintenance program (including pressure equipment).
- Safety & Compliance (QHSE): Ensure all site activities are conducted safely and in line with company and legal standards. Actively participate in safety meetings, draft and maintain mechanical procedures, and ensure compliance with local environmental requirements (ISO certified standards).
- Contractor Management: Oversee on-site contractors, including issuing necessary work permits and providing induction training to ensure safety and quality standards are met.
- Team Coordination: Coordinate the daily tasks for the mechanical department, manage spare parts inventory, and supervise/evaluate subcontractor technical services.
- Problem Solving: Identify technical anomalies and propose preventive actions to improve plant reliability and product quality.
- On-Call Duty: Participate in mechanical standby/guard duties as required, exercising full authority over mechanical maintenance activities during on-call periods.
Skills & Qualifications
To be successful in this dual-function role, you must possess the following:
- Technical Training: Completion of relevant technical training and authorizations.
- Process Knowledge: Solid understanding of AL techniques (e.g., control systems, automation logic).
- Compliance Training: Trained in Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) related to CO₂ operations, and possess Food Safety and HACCP awareness training.
- Core Competencies: Strong problem-solving, technical, and decision-making skills.
- Work Style: Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within the Maintenance & Production Teams.
