The Opportunity: As an SEN Primary Teacher in our partner PRUs and SEMH schools, you will be responsible for crafting highly personalised and impactful learning experiences:
- Differentiated Learning & EHCP Implementation: Design and deliver meticulously tailored lessons and interventions, strictly following each pupil's Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) and individual behaviour management plans to address complex social, emotional, and mental health needs.
- Behaviour & Emotional Coaching: Proactively teach and coach pupils in emotional regulation techniques and positive coping mechanisms. Expertly respond to and de-escalate challenging behaviours to ensure a calm and safe learning environment.
- Engaging & Flexible Pedagogy: Re-ignite pupils curiosity and passion for learning through highly creative, flexible, and engaging teaching approaches that consider past educational disruption and diverse learning styles.
- Collaborative & Holistic Support: Work seamlessly within a multidisciplinary team (e.g., therapists, social workers, support staff) and families to deliver comprehensive pastoral care and develop crucial life skills alongside academic progress.
- Safeguarding & Advocacy: Uphold the highest standards of safeguarding and child protection given the inherent vulnerability of pupils in PRUs and SEMH settings. Act as a positive role model and advocate for student potential.

- Profound Empathy & Non-Judgmental Approach: An innate understanding that behaviours stem from trauma or unmet needs, fostering trust through unconditional positive regard.
- Mastery of Behavioural Support: Expert in proactive management, trigger recognition, plan implementation, and advanced de-escalation skills.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Essential UK QTS.
- Extensive Primary Curriculum Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of the Primary Curriculum.
- Relevant Experience: Proven ability to implement effective behaviour management techniques to foster a secure and supportive learning environment for all students. Minimum 3 months recent TA experience in a UK school (referenced) is also a plus.
- Enhanced DBS: Must have an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to obtain).
