Randstad Education is actively seeking dedicated Primary Teaching Assistants to support our partner primary schools across Bradford and the surrounding areas. We are looking for candidates who are passionate about making a real difference in a child's educational development.
This is a fantastic opportunity to gain invaluable classroom experience, working across various year groups from EYFS to KS2. We welcome applicants who have relevant volunteer experience, formal TA qualifications, or transferable skills from previous child-focused settings.
Key Responsibilities
Instructional Support: Provide general classroom assistance, including preparing materials, organising displays, and ensuring a tidy, positive learning environment.
Small Group Work: Confidently lead small groups in focused activities, particularly reinforcing reading, writing, and numeracy concepts.
Literacy Development: Observe and assist primary pupils during reading sessions, helping to build confidence and fluency.
Behaviour & Engagement: Support the class teacher in maintaining effective classroom management and promoting positive behaviour through encouragement and established strategies.
Pupil Welfare: Offer essential pastoral support, showing empathy and patience to children who may need emotional guidance or assistance during the school day.
Teamwork: Liaise effectively with the class teacher and other staff members, demonstrating strong organisational skills and initiative.
Essential Candidate Requirements
Experience: Previous experience working with primary school-aged children, gained through volunteer work (e.g., tuition centres, after-school clubs), formal placements, or a qualification.
Qualifications (Desirable): A relevant qualification such as a Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant Certificate or a qualification in Childcare, Health & Social Care, or Education is highly desirable.
DBS: A current, clear Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply immediately through Randstad).
Qualities: High levels of empathy, patience, and adaptability are essential for this role.
Location: Based in or willing to commute within the Bradford area.
