Roles & Responsibilities
The Teaching Assistant will focus on academic acceleration and classroom support:
Targeted Intervention: Plan and execute rigorous, evidenced-based interventions for pupils identified as working below age-related expectations in Maths and English.
Resource Adaptation: Create customised visual aids, manipulatives, and scaffolding tools to support learning within the Key Stage 2 classroom.
Assessment Monitoring: Assist the Class Teacher in administering standardised reading/spelling tests and meticulously recording results for analysis.
Classroom Presence: Act as a second adult in the classroom, circulating effectively to reinforce instructions and address minor off-task behaviour swiftly.
Pupil Feedback: Provide encouraging and constructive feedback to pupils during independent work sessions to maintain motivation.
Liaison: Attend planning and intervention review meetings, providing crucial input regarding pupil response and progress data.
Requirements
The school requires an experienced professional who demonstrates:
Qualification: NVQ Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning is mandatory.
