Do you miss the days when teaching was about the children, not the paperwork?
Are you looking to reclaim your evenings and weekends from the endless cycle of planning and assessment?
Would you enjoy the variety of teaching across different Key Stages in schools across Sheffield?
If you found yourself nodding along, it is time to consider a career as a Supply Teacher with Randstad Education. We are the leading education agency in Sheffield, supporting a vast network of Primary schools that rely on us to provide high-quality cover when their permanent staff are absent.
Whether you are an ECT looking to gain experience in different year groups before settling down, or a seasoned teacher looking to step back from full-time responsibility, supply teaching restores the joy of the profession.
The Role
Supply teaching allows you to focus on what you were trained to do: teach.
Delivery: Delivering engaging, pre-planned lessons to classes across EYFS, KS1, or KS2.
Marking: Following the school's marking policy (usually "mark as you go"), meaning you leave the school when the bell rings, no taking books home.
Flexibility: You choose your days. If you have a holiday planned or a family commitment, you simply mark yourself unavailable on our app.
Adaptability: quickly building rapport with a new class and managing behaviour effectively to ensure learning continues.
Why Sheffield Teachers Choose Randstad
The "PAYE" Promise: Unlike many other agencies, we pay our teachers via PAYE. This means you don't pay hidden fees to umbrella companies. You keep more of your hard-earned daily rate.
Competitive Rates: We advocate for our teachers to ensure you are paid to scale for long-term roles and competitively for daily supply.
Local Work: Our Sheffield consultants know the city. We aim to keep you in the postcodes you prefer, minimizing your travel time on the Parkway or the A61.
Smooth Technology: Our booking app puts you in control. Accept shifts, update your diary, and view your payslips all from your phone.
Requirements
Qualification: You must hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) in the UK. (ECTs are very welcome).
Curriculum: A strong understanding of the Primary National Curriculum.
Vetting: A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or we can help you process a new one).
References: Two professional references (one must be from your most recent teaching placement).
