Roles & Responsibilities
The Class Teacher will be responsible for:
Curriculum Mapping: Contribute to the ongoing design and review of a specific Key Stage curriculum area, ensuring clear progression and high academic rigour.
Assessment Cycles: Implement and manage the school's termly assessment cycle (formative and summative), accurately grading and reporting pupil attainment data.
Intervention Planning: Design and monitor targeted intervention plans for pupils requiring additional academic support, collaborating with the SENCo and TA team.
Mentoring: Potentially mentor an Early Career Teacher (ECT) or a student teacher, contributing to the development of future teaching talent.
Extracurricular: Organise and lead at least one extracurricular club (e.g., Computing, Sport, Debate) to enhance pupil engagement outside of core curriculum hours.
Resource Oversight: Effectively manage and audit the allocation and use of resources for a subject specialism across the key stage.
School Requirements
The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:
Certification: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is mandatory.
Experience: Proven, successful experience teaching a class within Key Stage 2 in the UK.
Assessment Familiarity: Detailed working knowledge of current UK assessment frameworks and cycles (e.g., SATS preparation).
Skills: Exceptional communication skills, suitable for detailed feedback to pupils, parents, and Governors.
Curriculum Design: Demonstrated ability to plan challenging, multi-faceted lessons that embed cross-curricular links.
Compliance: Must possess a current Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service.
