Roles & Responsibilities
The Class Teacher will be responsible for:
Inclusive Practice: Design and deliver highly differentiated lessons that explicitly address the needs of EAL and SEND pupils within the classroom.
Assessment and Feedback: Utilise frequent formative assessment (AfL) and provide high-quality, actionable feedback that accelerates pupil progress.
Attendance Promotion: Actively monitor and promote excellent class attendance, collaborating with the school's pastoral team and families where concerns arise.
Subject Development: Take on the leadership of a foundation subject (e.g., History, Geography, or PE), contributing to curriculum mapping and resource provision.
Planning Collaboration: Fully participate in weekly year-group planning meetings, sharing resources and best practices to reduce individual workload.
Safeguarding: Act as a vigilant class tutor, adhering strictly to all school safeguarding protocols and reporting procedures.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will be an adaptable educator who meets:
Certification: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is mandatory.
Experience: Proven ability to manage a busy primary classroom effectively (ECTs with strong placements are welcome).
Pedagogy: Thorough understanding of primary assessment cycles and reporting requirements.
Soft Skills: A collaborative, flexible attitude and a genuine commitment to the community ethos of the school.
Vetting: Must possess a current Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service.
