Roles & Responsibilities:
The Class Teacher will be entrusted with strategic and day-to-day responsibilities, including:
Assessment Cycle Leadership: Oversee and lead the full assessment cycle for your class, including moderating work and providing detailed analytical reports to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT).
Mentoring: Effectively line-manage and mentor the assigned Teaching Assistants and student teachers, delegating tasks and evaluating their impact on learning outcomes.
Curriculum Adaptation: Research, design, and implement bespoke learning units that integrate external opportunities and community resources to enhance the curriculum offer.
Financial Awareness: Manage the class budget for resources and proactively advise the school on necessary equipment purchases related to your subject specialism.
Well-being Promotion: Lead initiatives to promote pupil and staff mental well-being, acting as a positive role model for resilience and work-life balance.
External Liaison: Develop and maintain strong links with local secondary schools and educational partners to ensure smooth transition points for pupils.
Requirements
The ideal candidate for this influential role will possess:
Certification: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is mandatory.
Expertise: Deep expertise and a proven track record in assessment and data analysis within Key Stage 2.
Leadership Potential: Clear ambition and demonstrable skills for assuming subject or phase leadership responsibilities.
Knowledge: Familiarity with the challenging standards often found in the independent or highly successful state school sector.
