Your Key Responsibilities
As a Primary Teaching Assistant, you will be the backbone of the classroom, working closely with the Class Teacher to deliver engaging lessons. Your day-to-day will involve:
... Classroom Support: Assisting with the preparation of learning materials and creating stimulating classroom displays that celebrate student work.
Targeted Interventions: Leading small group sessions in Literacy and Numeracy to bridge gaps in learning and challenge high achievers.
1:1 Support: Providing tailored support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) or those requiring emotional and behavioural coaching.
Behaviour Management: Utilising positive reinforcement strategies to maintain a calm and productive learning environment in line with school policy.
Observation & Reporting: Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback to the teacher to help inform future planning and assessment.
Requirements:
To succeed in this role, you must be proactive, resilient, and deeply committed to education. The school is looking for:
Experience: Proven experience working within a Primary School setting (KS1 or KS2) is essential.
Qualifications: A relevant Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (CACHE, NVQ, or equivalent).
Skills: Strong command of the English language (spoken and written) and confidence in supporting Maths up to KS2 standards.
Personality: A warm, approachable nature with the ability to build strong rapport with children, parents, and staff.
Compliance: You must hold a valid Enhanced DBS on the update service (or be willing to apply for one) and should be eligible to work in the UK "without any sponsorship".
