The Role: Primary Teaching Assistant
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Primary Teaching Assistant (TA) to provide crucial support to teachers and students across Key Stages 1 and 2. This role is perfect for someone passionate about education who wants to directly contribute to the progress and well-being of primary-aged children. The position offers variety, working with whole classes, small groups, and sometimes providing one-to-one support.

Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Assist the class teacher with the preparation of learning resources and classroom displays.
- Provide tailored support to small groups of pupils, focusing on literacy and numeracy intervention programs.
- Offer one-to-one support to pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) or those requiring extra assistance.
- Help manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive, safe, and productive learning environment.
- Supervise children during lessons, break times, lunchtimes, and school trips, ensuring their safety and welfare.
- Support the assessment process by observing, recording, and providing feedback on pupil performance.
- Help facilitate the personal, social, and emotional development of pupils.
What We're Looking For
- Relevant experience working with primary-aged children (paid or voluntary).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for liaising with pupils, staff, and parents.
- A calm, patient, and highly adaptable approach to working with diverse learning needs.
- A strong foundation in literacy and numeracy to effectively support core subjects.
- A recognised qualification relevant to childcare or education (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3, or equivalent) is desirable.
- The ability to work independently using initiative, as well as being an excellent team player.
- A genuine passion for making a difference in a child's school life.
