Roles & Responsibilities
The Teaching Assistant will be expected to undertake the following high-level support duties:
Intervention Leadership: Plan, organise, and lead focused 'catch-up' and 'booster' sessions in literacy and numeracy for identified pupils across Key Stage 2.
Assessment Support: Assist the Class Teacher in the formal assessment process, accurately recording pupil attainment levels and contributing to pupil profiles.
Advanced Preparation: Prepare bespoke, differentiated resources for both in-class activities and specialist intervention groups.
Pupil Observation: Conduct targeted observations of pupils who require additional support, documenting progress against specific learning objectives (PLOs).
EHCP Implementation: Support pupils with Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs), ensuring all agreed provisions and targets are delivered consistently.
Communication: Act as a key liaison between the Class Teacher and small groups, ensuring instructions and feedback are understood and followed precisely.
Requirements
The school expects applicants to meet the following high standards:
Qualification: NVQ Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (or an equivalent) is mandatory.
Experience: Significant proven experience working within an academically high-achieving UK primary school environment.
Subject Knowledge: Advanced knowledge of primary Maths and English curricula, suitable for leading Year 6 booster sessions.
Personal Qualities: Meticulous organisation, exceptional timekeeping, and a highly professional demeanour.
Compliance: Must be willing to apply for or possess a current Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service.
