Roles & Responsibilities
The Teaching Assistant will be expected to support the whole-child development, including:
Ethos Support: Actively participate in collective worship and support the Class Teacher in delivering lessons that integrate the school's core values.
Pastoral Care: Provide essential emotional and practical support to pupils, acting as a trusted, consistent adult presence in the classroom.
Targeted Literacy: Lead targeted Phonics, reading, and spelling intervention groups to boost pupil confidence and attainment in key areas.
Behaviour Monitoring: Consistently monitor and record pupil behaviour, applying agreed strategies to help children self-regulate and manage their emotions effectively.
Resource Organisation: Prepare and organise specialised resources, ensuring the classroom environment reflects the curriculum and the school's distinctive character.
Outdoor Learning: Supervise and facilitate purposeful learning activities during outdoor sessions, encouraging collaboration and safe play.
Requirements
The school expects applicants to demonstrate the following:
Qualification: An NVQ Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent qualification) is essential.
Values Alignment: A demonstrable understanding of and commitment to working within a faith-based school environment.
Experience: Recent experience supporting Key Stage 1 or 2 pupils in a UK primary school setting.
Personal Qualities: Excellent listening skills, patience, and a reliable, proactive approach to all tasks.
Compliance: Must be willing to apply for or possess a current Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service.
