Are you a dedicated care professional looking to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and young people? We are seeking compassionate, resilient, and experienced Residential Childcare Workers to support children with complex mental health needs across Newcastle upon Tyne and the surrounding areas.
In this role, you won't just be providing "care"-you will be a stable presence, a mentor, and a safeguarder for young people navigating significant emotional and behavioral challenges.
The Role
This is a versatile position that requires a high level of adaptability. You will be working across various settings, including:
- Residential Care Homes: Providing structured support within a team environment.
- Community/Home Care: Working directly within service users' family homes to provide bespoke 1-to-1 support.
Requirements
To ensure the highest standard of safety and care for our service users, all applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Experience: Proven background working with children and adolescents, specifically those with mental health conditions and complex needs.
- DBS: A current Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service.
- International Safety: An overseas police clearance certificate (if you have lived/worked abroad within the last 5 years).
- Training: Up-to-date Mandatory Care Training and PMVA (Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression) certification.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends.
- Transport: Ideally a driver with access to your own vehicle (highly preferred due to the travel between community settings).
