    My Client has an exciting opportunity for a Head of HSES to join our Rail team. You will join railteam on the Central Rail Systems Alliance (CRSA).There is flexibility regarding location, you can be based out of the Crewe, Birmingham.Role Profile:Drive HSES performance, ensuring efficient and effective service and support levels to meet andwhere possible exceed operational requirements. To support the HSES Director in achieving Zero Harm objectives and the Building New Futures sustainability strategy.What you'll be doingAs a Head of HSES, you will: Provide advice, support and direction to all project HSES teams to enable them to supporttheir project teams to deliver Zero Harm, in a coherent and co-ordinated manner; Undertake Health and Safety compliance evaluations, tours and audits as required and toensure sufficient assurance of project activities; In conjunction with Executive General Managers / Managing Directors / Directors, carry outproject and business sector HSE performance reviews and reporting using lagging andleading indicators; Work with the HSES Director, to develop and ensure the delivery of the BB Rail HSESStrategy; Review and investigate accidents, incidents and near miss events in accordance with client standards to identify and effectively share lessons learned across Rail. Ensure actions and recommendations are tracked and the SIER process is applied; Ensure HSE, Customer and client accident reporting requirements are fulfilled; Monitor, collate and interpret health and safety performance data including close out of inspection and accident investigation reports, and provide management reports on a routine basis; Manage the recruitment of HSES Professionals across Rail; Coach, mentor and manage HSES Professionals where required; Deputise for the HSES Director where required; Liaise with regulators and develop proactive relationships; Work with the wider HSES team to promote Zero Harm and continuous improvement of performance through special projects, local initiatives and HSES improvement plans; Develop professional relationships with customers and specifically their HSE professionals; Support the implementation and improvement of the BMS; Any other tasks as determined by HSES Function and/or SBU Senior Management.Who they're looking forPersonal Qualities and ExperienceEssential: Corporate Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (or workingtowards); NEBOSH Diploma or NCRQ qualification; Must have detailed, technical knowledge and experience Health and safety legislation,regulations and guidance; Utilities and/or Construction industry experience and in particular CDM; Experience of working in Major Infrastructure Projects; Must have prior experience of providing leadership and support to operational andfunctional teams and of working at a senior level; Must have prior experience of developing proactive relationships with challengingcustomers.
