Location: Rayleigh, Essex Pay Rate: £130 - £140 per day Contract: Full-time / Part-time / Flexible

Randstad Education is currently recruiting for confident and knowledgeable Science Instructors to support secondary schools in the Rayleigh area.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Science Graduate, an experienced Cover Supervisor with a flair for Biology, Chemistry, or Physics, or an Unqualified Teacher looking to utilise their subject knowledge in a school setting.
As a Science Instructor, you will bridge the gap between a Cover Supervisor and a Qualified Teacher. You will be responsible for delivering engaging Science lessons to Key Stage 3 and 4 students.
Key Responsibilities:
... - Delivering pre-planned Science lessons (Biology, Chemistry, and Physics).
- Managing a classroom environment effectively, ensuring students remain on task.
- Supporting students with lab work and practical experiments (adhering to strict health and safety guidelines).
- Answering subject-specific questions and helping students grasp complex scientific concepts.
- Collecting work and providing feedback to the Head of Department.
Requirements
- Education: A degree in a Science-related subject (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or Engineering) is highly desirable.
- Experience: Previous experience working with young people (e.g., as a Cover Supervisor, Tutor, Youth Worker, or Sports Coach).
- Skills: Strong classroom presence, resilience, and the ability to build rapport with students.
- DBS: An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one through Randstad).
