We are seeking a Science specialist to join a forward-thinking secondary school on a long-term basis, delivering high-impact lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is a mandatory requirement for this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspirational Delivery: Design and implement a Science curriculum that challenges students and fosters a deep curiosity about the natural world.
- Practical Learning: Oversee safe and engaging laboratory sessions, helping students bridge the gap between theoretical concepts and real-world application.
- GCSE Success: Guide Year 11 cohorts through their examinations with targeted revision strategies, mock assessments, and personalized feedback.
- Inclusive Education: Differentiate your teaching methods to ensure Science is accessible and stimulating for learners of all abilities.
- Departmental Growth: Work collaboratively with fellow specialists to share resources and contribute to the ongoing success of the Science faculty.
- Academic Monitoring: Use data-driven insights to track student progress and implement effective interventions to help every pupil reach their potential.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS is essential.
- A relevant degree in a Science discipline (Physics, Chemistry, or Biology).
- Proven experience teaching the UK Science curriculum at the Secondary level.
- Strong classroom management skills and a commitment to maintaining a safe laboratory environment.
- Excellent communication skills to build rapport with students, colleagues, and parents.
- An enhanced Child DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
