Title: SEN Behaviour Support Assistants - Become the Anchor for a Child in Crisis Location: Clacton-on-Sea Pay: £90 - £100 per day (Dependent on Experience)
The Mission: Are you someone who looks beyond a child's outward behaviour to understand the struggle underneath? We are looking for a dedicated SEN Behaviour Support Assistants to join our teams across Essex. This isn't a role where you sit on the sidelines; we need someone proactive and involved from the moment the school bell rings. You will be working with students who have faced significant trauma or have neurodiverse needs that lead to low self-esteem and a profound lack of confidence in their own abilities.
What is expected of you: In this environment, you will encounter unregulated behaviour, including verbal aggression and swearing. We need individuals who are tolerant and understand that this is a form of communication, not a personal attack. You must remain calm and collected, acting as the "anchor" in the room when a student is in crisis. You will need to be open-minded and flexible, as no two days-or even hours-are ever the same. Being a positive role model is at the heart of what we do; you will show these students that consistency and care are always available.
The Fit: We are seeking people with a positive attitude and an unbeatable work ethic. You should be able to integrate positively and with ease with existing staff, contributing to a high-energy and supportive atmosphere. Whether you are looking for day-to-day supply, a fixed-term contract, or a temp-to-perm opportunity, we want to ensure you are the right person for the long run. Previous SEN experience is desirable, but the right mindset is essential. Any additional training, such as Team Teach or de-escalation techniques, is highly valued.
