As an SEN Maths Teacher, you won't just teach; you'll inspire and transform. You will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality Maths education tailored to meet the unique needs of students with special educational requirements. You will work closely with students, parents, and other professionals to develop individualised learning plans and provide the necessary support to ensure student success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, engaging, and well-planned lessons with a focus on differentiation.
- Deliver high-quality lessons aligned with the agreed classes/courses, focusing on developing the full potential of every student.
- Adapt teaching strategies and resources to accommodate various learning styles and challenges.
- Provide one-on-one support and small group instruction to students who require additional assistance.
- Assess student progress regularly and adjust teaching methods accordingly to ensure continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with colleagues, SEN coordinators, and external agencies to develop comprehensive support plans for students with SEN.
- Maintain accurate records of student achievements, progress, and behaviour.
Requirements:
- Qualified teacher status (QTS) with a degree in Mathematics or a related field.
- Proven experience teaching Maths to students with special educational needs, preferably in a mainstream or SEN school setting.
- Excellent understanding of different SEN conditions, learning difficulties, and appropriate teaching strategies.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the educational development of SEN students.
