As they continue to expand operations nationwide, the North East division are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the team.
Job Description:
We are currently seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor who will play a crucial role in the company's growth. In this position, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of cost management, procurement, and contractual matters related to our construction projects. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our company's success and to work on prestigious residential developments throughout the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
Cost Management:
- Lead the cost planning and management of construction projects from inception to completion.
- Conduct detailed cost analyses and provide accurate estimates for budgets.
Procurement:
- Drive the procurement process, including the selection of subcontractors and suppliers.
- Negotiate and manage contracts to ensure favourable terms and conditions.
Contractual Matters:
- Manage all contractual aspects of projects, including claims and variations.
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and mitigate risks.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with the project team, including architects, engineers, and site managers, to achieve project goals.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to address and resolve any issues that may arise during construction.
Financial Reporting:
- Prepare accurate and timely financial reports for senior management.
- Monitor project costs and provide insights to optimize financial performance.
Qualifications and Experience:
The ideal candidate will have:
- A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
- MRICS or equivalent professional accreditation.
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, specialising in residential construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts and procurement processes.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Proficiency in relevant software and tools.
