Job Title: Site Manager
Location: Wickford, Essex
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and highly capable Site Manager to oversee a challenging and rewarding project in Wickford. This is a crucial role for an individual who can operate autonomously and take full ownership of site operations from inception to completion.
The project will commence with a critical ecology phase, requiring meticulous attention to detail and adherence to environmental regulations. Following this, the project will transition into significant demolition works.
Key Responsibilities:
Full site management: Taking sole responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the site.
Demolition expertise: Overseeing all aspects of demolition works, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance.
Ecology phase management: Diligently managing the initial ecology stage, ensuring all necessary procedures and regulations are met.
Health & Safety: Implementing and enforcing stringent health and safety protocols across the site. Conducting regular inspections, risk assessments, and toolbox talks.
Reporting: Preparing and maintaining comprehensive site reports, progress updates, and documentation for all project phases.
Quality Control: Ensuring all works are carried out to the highest standards and in line with project specifications.
Subcontractor Management: Overseeing and coordinating on-site subcontractors and their activities.
Problem-solving: Proactively identifying and resolving any on-site issues or challenges.
Stakeholder Liaison: Liaising effectively with relevant stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and local authorities.
Essential Requirements:
MUST HAVE demonstrable experience working with Tier 1 Contractors.
MUST HAVE significant, hands-on experience in managing demolition projects.
Proven ability to manage a construction site independently, taking full responsibility for all operations.
Strong understanding of health and safety legislation and best practices.
Excellent report writing and documentation skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Relevant construction management qualifications (e.g., SMSTS, CSCS Black Card, First Aid at Work).
Proficiency in IT and project management software.
Desirable Skills:
Experience with ecological mitigation and protection measures.
