An exciting opportunity has arisen for a specialist Social Science Teacher to join a vibrant Secondary School in Mildenhall. Starting in February 2026 and running until July 2026, this role involves teaching students from Year 10 through to Year 13. We are looking for an educator who can confidently deliver a curriculum focused on Psychology and Criminology, alongside other social science disciplines. This is a fantastic chance to support students as they prepare for critical upper-school assessments and A-Level examinations.
Key Responsibilities
- Advanced Instruction: Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in Psychology and Criminology for Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5 (Years 10-13).
- Exam Preparation: Support A-Level and GCSE students with rigorous exam techniques, coursework guidance, and revision strategies to ensure academic success.
- Curriculum Engagement: Develop and utilize resources that make complex social theories and case studies accessible and fascinating for young adults.
- Assessment: Monitor, mark, and track student progress, providing constructive feedback to help learners reach their predicted grades.
- Classroom Leadership: Maintain a stimulating and focused learning environment, fostering critical thinking and analytical discussion.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Social Science department to contribute to the wider academic goals of the school.
Requirements
- Education & Status: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS is essential.
- Subject Expertise: A degree-level understanding or proven experience teaching Psychology and Criminology to A-Level.
- Secondary Experience: Evidence of successfully teaching upper GCSE and A-Level cohorts.
- Analytical Skills: The ability to simplify complex social theories and apply them to real-world scenarios.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with older students and work effectively within a professional team.
- Compliance: An enhanced Child DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
