The Role: Teacher of Spanish
This role offers the opportunity to teach Spanish from beginner level in Key Stage 3 (KS3) up to the academic challenge of Key Stage 4 (GCSE). For candidates with appropriate experience, there may also be the chance to contribute to our successful A-Level provision. You will be responsible for creating an immersive and high-achieving classroom environment, empowering students to communicate effectively and confidently.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Design and execute engaging, communicative, and culturally rich Spanish lessons for all ability levels across the key stages.
- Assess student performance accurately and regularly, using formative and summative data to provide targeted intervention and stretch high attainers.
- Contribute to the strategic development of the MFL curriculum, ensuring resources and schemes of work reflect current best practice and exam specifications.
- Effectively manage classroom behaviour to maintain a positive, purposeful, and highly productive learning atmosphere.
- Collaborate closely with other MFL teachers to share resources, standardise marking, and collectively improve teaching methodologies.
- Organise and lead relevant extra-curricular activities, such as film clubs, language competitions, or opportunities for cultural immersion.
- Uphold and promote the school's commitment to equality, diversity, and the safeguarding of all students.
What We're Looking For
We need a proactive and passionate colleague who is ready to make an immediate, positive impact.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a strong degree specialization in Spanish or a closely related discipline is mandatory.
- Demonstrable expertise in teaching Spanish, including confidence with GCSE specifications. A-Level experience is a bonus.
- Fluent, articulate Spanish speaker with exceptional pronunciation and a deep, authentic understanding of Hispanic cultures.
- A practitioner who champions student talk and practical communication, moving beyond textbook activities.
- Highly organised, with excellent planning skills and an ability to meet deadlines in a busy environment.
- A committed team player who brings energy, ideas, and a positive outlook to department meetings and whole-school life.
- A teacher who uses technology creatively (e.g., interactive whiteboards, digital resources) to make language learning memorable and fun.
